- Boats
Commuting to Boston from Hingham (and return) is a real pleasure aboard the commuter boats provided by the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority). Boats leave Hingham for downtown Boston (Rowes Wharf, at the Boston Harbor Hotel) frequently. Check here for schedules, fares and other information.
Harbor Express operates high-speed commuter boats between the Fore River Shipyard at the Quincy-Weymouth town line and Logan Airport and downtown Boston/Rowes Wharf.
The boat terminal at the airport is a direct link to ground transportation there.
- Trains
Commuter rail service has been restored to our area after a forty-year absence. Of special interest for our market area are the Greenbush and Plymouth/Kingston Lines.
Note the stops in Greenbush, North Scituate, Cohasset, Hingham, along with the others on the route to South Station in Boston.
- Subway
- Check the MBTA site for Boston subway and trolley service. The "T" Red Line subway branch extends as far south as Braintree.
- Buses
Once again, the MBTA figures prominently, in this case with bus transportation throughout the city of Boston and south as far as Hingham.
The Plymouth and Brockton Street Railway (known locally as "P&B") provides popular express bus service to Boston from many of the towns in our area.
- International Airports
- Our area is served by two international airports. Logan, in Boston, has a Web site that includes up-to-the-minute information on flight schedules, and will even notify you by email of changes. It can be reached by subway and by commuter boat and water taxi from Rowes Wharf.
Another airport, T.F. Green, located in Warwick, RI, is an attractive alternative to Logan for residents of our market area. Its appeal lies in its new facilities, low-cost parking, and convenient access.
